ApconiX is Recruiting a Target Safety Assessment Discipline Lead

You could be based at our headquarters at Alderley Park, the UK’s largest science park in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside. We are close to Manchester and its International Airport (10 miles) and with direct trains to London every hour from Wilmslow/Macclesfield. Alternatively, you may prefer to work flexibly from home, from our office in Gothenburg or from elsewhere.
The Role: We are looking for a scientist who can take our target safety assessment (TSA) team to the next level. TSAs enable our clients to understand and mitigate the potential safety liabilities that are inherent in a therapeutic target. The role will involve working with our growing list of international clients as well as providing training, mentoring and coaching to our growing team.
Your Profile: You will have a research mindset coupled with a solid understanding of drug discovery and at least 5 years of experience working in drug discovery project teams. You will have an interest in and desire to grow the TSA group via line management, coaching and leadership of new and existing staff coupled with an interest in developing the market for TSAs.
You will have the experience and confidence to work alone with clients, assessing their needs, reviewing data and developing strategic plans, supported by our team of highly experienced project toxicologists and discipline experts.
Candidate preferred requirements:
- Qualified to PhD level (or equivalent experience) in Pharmacology/Biological Sciences or similar
- At least 5 years experience of working in drug project teams
- Interest in drug target pharmacology and/or toxicology
- Delivery focused
- Fluent English with excellent communication skills
The position is a permanent job with a 3-month probationary period. We are looking for full time employees but we are highly open to part time and/or flexible working. The company offers competitive pay, pension and holidays.
Salary negotiable, commensurate with experience.
